Inspired by Ginny’s lovely garden tour, I thought it might be fun to share some scenes from my garden, starting from our long, winding, and overgrown driveway along our neighbor’s easement. I’ll spare you the views of the neighbor’s half-painted house project started last year, the other neighbor’s “honking” RV, and the collapsing tool shed on the easement.
Here goes:

1. Our 250 foot winding driveway. Left natural for all critters to enjoy.

2. “Out the front”.

3. Enter the garden here.

4. The main hydrangea bed, complete with the Parrotia persica, formerly known as “Ugly Duck“.

5. A view from the main hydrangea bed back towards the driveway.

6. Outside the front door is the glazed pot water feature; the Umbrella pine is nearby too.

7. Tlaloc (Aztec God of rain, water, and fertility) watches over the front garden.

8. Through the gate to the North side, home of some favorites like the Pseudocamillia japonica and the Acer shirasawanum “Autumn Moon”.

9. Rest a while on the deck chairs and take in the scene.

10. The “berm” delivers gardening challenges each year.

11. The wetland area and Nikko Blue Hydrangea bed at the end of the garden.

12. The tree trunk bed, complete with charred tree trunk too heavy to move. This is the sunniest bed in the garden and the corgi hangout.

13. The nursery beds, intensive care unit, and waiting room for plant purchases.

14. View back towards the house.

15. The Annabelles.

16. The “new” South side garden (Fall 2009), planted with natives and a few non-native specimens.

17. Back at the front garden.
Thanks for taking the tour!
